The CCA History Department takes a combined History and Social Studies approach. Upper Elementary surveys U.S. and World History, followed by a Social Studies focus in Middle School. 7th graders study Geography and World Cultures, and 8th graders prepare for citizenship by taking Civics. In Highschool, the approach is Chronological. 9th graders begin by studying the Ancient World up to early European exploration of the Americas, 10th grade continues the story from the Age of Exploration up to the collapse of the Great Powers system in the first World War, and 11th grade explores the 20th century and the rise of the United States as a global power before looking at the challenges of the early 21st century. Finally, in 12th grade, students return to a citizenship focus by studying Economics and U.S. Government. Our goal is to help students see the world as it is today in the global context of its history. While an emphasis is placed on history as the story of how we became who we are, and thus more time is given to those parts of history that have influenced the development of our culture, we strive to show students that there are also other stories and other perspectives from which to look, understanding that no human perspective is altogether perfect and right. We aim to disciple students who will go into adulthood ready to consider perspectives outside their own, look at current events in context, and above all who understand that moral character is better than power, and that human power, however well-intentioned, cannot solve the brokenness of our world.

The Math Department at CCA equips students with the skills to think logically, solve real-life problems, and approach the world with confidence and precision. Our courses emphasize deep conceptual understanding, critical reasoning, and mathematical communication. Students engage with a wide range of mathematical topics—including pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, statistics, and advanced problem-solving—always examining how these concepts reveal order, purpose, and creativity within God’s design. Through collaborative tasks, hands-on applications, and real-world scenarios, students learn to persevere through challenging problems and develop practical skills they can use in everyday life. Whether modeling financial decisions, interpreting data, or applying geometric reasoning, students grow as adaptable problem solvers who can use mathematics to navigate real-life situations with wisdom. Students explain their reasoning through written justifications, mathematical arguments, and reflective work that ties their learning to a Biblical Worldview. They develop both precision and discernment as they evaluate solutions, make connections, and recognize the role of truth and structure in God’s creation. The Math Department’s goal at CCA is to cultivate strong, resilient thinkers who reflect Christ-like character, approach challenges with perseverance, and apply mathematics to understand and wisely engage with the world around them.

Science at CCA aims to inspire students to explore the natural world through inquiry, experimentation, and critical thinking. We teach rigorous, secular scientific concepts while grounding our approach in a Biblical worldview, encouraging students to appreciate God’s design in creation and act responsibly as stewards of His world. Our goal is to develop curious, thoughtful, and responsible learners who approach scientific discovery with intellectual rigor from a Biblical perspective, prepared to engage the world with wisdom, integrity, and a sense of responsibility toward God’s creation.
