The CCA Statement of Faith consists of doctrines, founded from Biblical tenets, to which we unreservedly adhere and teach. Our desire is to uphold this position responsibly in all fairness to each family. Consequently, within the scope of CCA’s ministry, we must insist that there be no attempt made by parents, students, staff, or school board members to promote or disparage any doctrinal or denominational beliefs, practices, or positions regarding issues upon which the ministry itself has assumed no official stance.

CCA exists for the Christian discipleship and education of children. To excel in this endeavor, Christian unity within the school body is essential. Therefore, families and teachers must be “like-minded” regarding the practice and acceptance of the CCA Statement of Faith. For this reason, it is offered here to help you determine if it is in accordance to your personal family’s beliefs.

The Scriptures
We believe the Bible in its original conveyance to be the only inspired, infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God (2 Timothy 3:15; 2 Peter 1:21), and we adhere to its orthodox interpretation regarding all matters, including but not limited to the sanctity of life beginning at conception, the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman, the imperative nature of salvation in Jesus Christ alone, et al.  We believe all other books external to the Bible, i.e., Book of Mormon, Non-Protestant Bible Translations, Modern Day Writings from Bible Teachers, etc., are rooted in man’s inability to know the one true God and His revelation as stated in God’s Holy Bible.

The Trinity
We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons, the Triune God Head – The Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30).

We believe in the deity of Christ (John 10:33) in that He was completely God and completely Human; He (Christ) was not a created being such as the angels are; His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:35); His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15; 7:26); His miracles (John 2:11); His vicarious and atoning death (1 Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrew 2:9); His physical bodily resurrection (John 11:25; 1 Corinthians 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19); His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11).

Salvation
We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature, and that men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ and that only by God’s grace and through faith alone we are saved (John 3:16-19; 5:24; Romans 3:23; 5:8-9; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5). As such, we believe that human works has no merit in one’s eternal destiny or entrance into Heaven.

Christian Life and Destiny
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29).

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8:9 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Galatians 3:26-28).

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Romans 8:13-14; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20; Ephesians 4:30; 5:18).

Core Values
1. Love Jesus
2. Glorify Jesus
3. Discipleship
4. Affirmation, Support, and Encouragement of Parents
5. Strengthening Families
6. Academic Excellence
7. Parent Partnership

Statement of Purpose
Cornerstone Christian Academy (CCA) is a private, accredited, parent-based Christian school whose purpose is to provide its students with a comprehensive, college preparatory education from a Biblical perspective. This comprehensive approach is accomplished through an educational format that makes provision for both trained classroom instruction and individualized parent involvement.

This ministry’s Statement of Faith is fundamental to basic Protestant Christian tenets and contains those doctrines to which we unreservedly adhere and teach.  It is our desire to maintain this position and to do so in all fairness to each family.  In honoring this desire concerning the outreach of this ministry, there shall be no attempt made by parents, students, staff, or school board members to promote or disparage any doctrinal or denominational beliefs, practices, or positions regarding issues upon which the ministry itself has assumed no official stance.  We desire to remain united in the salvation and love of Christ, avoiding the dissension that may be caused by denominational differences.  It is necessary, therefore, that parents, students, staff, and administration recognize that the following areas are to be left to the teaching of home and church:

  1. The mode of church government and authority
  2. The time and mode of Christian baptism
  3. The relationship between human free will and salvation
  4. The question of eternal security
  5. The nature of the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer, including the point at which the Holy Spirit comes into the life of the believer and the gifts of the Holy Spirit
  6. The interpretation of verses referencing future events (eschatology)
  7. Personal life issues/circumstances that are inappropriate for the classroom
  8. This is not to say hat discussion regarding these issues is avoided at CCA.  However, instructor and administration will not compel a student or parent to believe one way or another, nor will they be so dogmatic as to pronounce another’s opinion of such matters invalid or biblically unsupported.

Cornerstone Christian Academy (CCA) affirms that marriage and human sexuality are foundational to God’s created order and are to be understood through the lens of Scripture.  We regard marriage as a sacred institution, established by God as part of His good creation (Genesis 2:18-25), and designed to reflect the covenant relationship between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:31-32).

Marriage Defined
CCA believes that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive, covenantal union, as delineated in Scripture (Genesis 2:18-25).  Marriage is not merely a human contract but a divine covenant that calls for absolute marital fidelity and finds its fullest expression in the “one flesh” union of husband and wife.

Gender and Human Identity
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female.  These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God (Genesis 1:26-27).  Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.

Sexual Conduct
CCA holds that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4).  God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of this marriage covenant.  Therefore, any form of sexual immorality – including but not limited to adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, incest, bestiality, and use of pornography – is sinful and offensive to God (Matthew 15:18-20; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

Family and the Home
We affirm the importance of the home and family as established in Scripture.  This includes the distinct and complementary roles of husbands and wives, fathers and mothers, and children.  Biblical family values, marital fidelity, and gender distinction uphold the dignity of each individual and reflect God’s unchanging truth.

Institutional Integrity
All statements, activities, policies, publications, speech, and teaching of Cornerstone Christian Academy – whether by board members, administrators, faculty, staff, or students – shall reflect and uphold these doctrinal convictions on marriage, gender, and human sexuality.  Under no circumstances shall CCA produce, promote, or endorse content or conduct that compromises these biblical principles.
