“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Psalm 90:12
CCA ELEMENTARY
At Cornerstone Christian Academy, our elementary program for Kindergarten through 5th grade provides developmentally appropriate, individualized attention with a 16:1 student-teacher ratio. Our curriculum integrates a biblical worldview, ensuring a holistic education that nurtures both academic and spiritual growth.
Educational Philosphy
Math Educational Philosophy
The goal in elementary math at CCA is to develop math literate students who have a deep understanding of numbers, their patterns and relationships, and how they are used in operations. CCA intentionally focuses on mastery of early foundational math skills, algorithms, and basic facts while strategically developing the conceptual understanding behind those skills. Elementary students use concrete tools to explore abstract concepts while building problem-solving skills, fluency, and reasoning that prepares them for higher-level math.
English and Reading Educational Philosophy
Our Elementary English and Reading program establishes a strong foundation in literacy and fosters a love of learning. Teachers engage students with rich literature, purposeful writing, and thoughtful discussion that deepen understanding and are rooted in a Biblical worldview. Students learn to think carefully, communicate clearly, and express themselves with confidence. CCA students grow not only as skilled readers and writers but also as compassionate, discerning followers of Christ who use their words to honor Him.
History and Social Studies Educational Philosophy
Our Elementary History and Social Studies program equips students with an understanding of the past and an appreciation for the world around them through the lens of a Biblical worldview. Instruction emphasizes academic rigor, critical thinking, and meaningful connections by exploring the stories of people and places. Students engage with primary sources, hands-on projects, and rich discussions that foster curiosity and discernment. Students learn to see God’s hand in history and our world today and to recognize their own role as informed citizens who seek to serve others and influence their communities for Christ.
Science Educational Philosophy
In elementary science at CCA, we guide students to explore God’s creation through the lens of curiosity, exploration, and investigation. Our goal is to nurture this God-given curiosity by providing hands-on, inquiry-based experiences that help students understand how the world works and why it matters. Students will learn to observe, question, test ideas, communicate their thinking, and collaborate respectfully with their peers. At CCA, our hope is to convey that scientific knowledge and faith are not in conflict; rather, studying creation reveals aspects of God’s character and love for us.
Elementary Schedule
CCA is a University-Model® School where students attend classes on campus three days a week and learn from home on two days of the week.
